Fly to Funchal from Manchester Airport

Jet2.com, the low cost airline specialising in great value flights from the north of England, has revealed plans to fly to the beautiful Atlantic island of Madeira in summer 2010.

Renowned for its colourful flora, captivating towns and villages, rugged coastline and idyllic beaches, the island of Madeira lies some 360 miles off the coast of Africa and enjoys excellent year-round sunshine.

The airline is offering one way flights from Manchester Airport including taxes from as little as £49.99 to the island’s capital, Funchal. Departures are available from May 3, 2010, and can be booked online at www.Jet2.com.

Ian Doubtfire, managing director at Jet2.com, said: “Madeira is a stunning island and an absolutely fantastic summer holiday destination which I am sure will be extremely popular with our customers in the north west and beyond. We are the only airline to offer direct scheduled services to Madeira from Manchester meaning that this service will benefit people from across the north.

“At Jet2.com we are committed to offering our customers a wide range of holiday destinations, at friendly flight times from their local airport. We believe that this approach is why we have continued to see a great demand for our flights from Manchester while other airlines are pulling routes from the airport.”

Manchester Airport’s commercial director, Andrew Harrison, added: “Jet2.com is going from strength to strength at Manchester Airport as they continue to expand their range of destinations with Madeira being the latest to go on sale. Madeira is an extremely popular holiday destination and will be a welcome addition to our summer schedule.”
